| Juneau is a 5 year old husky/shepherd mix recently diagnosed with Addisons Disease. Addisons Disease effects a dog's adrenal glands and occurs most commonly in young to middle-aged female dogs with an average age of 4 years old. Adrenal hormones are necessary to control salt, sugar and water balance in the body. The signs of Addisons disease may include weakness, depression, lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, and occasionally increased thirst and increased urine production. With regular treatment and monthly injections Juneau can live a long and healthy life. Juneau's monthly shots to control her symptoms average $200. We subsidize the cost of injections and if you chose to donate to Juneau your donation will go directly toward her treatment.
